Competition Rules
We have competitions, not just to see who the best photographer is, but to give members
the opportunity to see their work compared with others and to improve their photographic
abilities from this competition experience and from the critiques following the competitions.
Competitions are held on the third Thursday of each month. In March, May, July, September
and November, we will have print competitions. In April, June, August, October and December,
we will have projected image competitions.
Last year, competition categories were revised to better match Gulf States’ competitions.
We have five categories for prints and five categories for projected images (prints and slides), as
follows:
PRINTS
- Pictorial Prints Color
- Pictorial Prints Monochrome
- Nature Prints
- Photojournalism Prints
- Assignment Prints
The Greater San Antonio Camera Club provides a special label (designed to be printed on Avery 8164 self adhesive label paper) which members must use on the back of all prints entered in competition. This label will be placed on the back of the print in the upper right hand corner so when the print is held up for correct audience viewing, the person holding the print will be able to read the name and title of the print. Use the same maker’s name on all of your entries. Download label here.
