As a reminder to everyone, the competition rules were updated last year to ensure that we have enough judges available before competitions. The following rules are now in effect:
Each month at the first meeting as part of the club’s business, the judges list will be brought out and the judges for the third week competition will be announced. If there are not three judges signed up for that month, we will ask for volunteers. If no one signs up for the empty slots, it will be announced at that time that the competition for that month will be canceled due to lack of judges.
A week before the competition, Harold Eiserloh, or whoever is Judge Chairman, will remind the signed-up judges of their responsibility. Sometimes, judges sign up months in advance and may forget and not be at the first week’s meeting. If judges find they cannot be there when called by Harold, they should work together with Harold to find a replacement. If one is not found, the competition will be canceled before the Monday deadline of the third week’s competition. Harold would notify the president when that happens, who in turn would notify the entire membership of the cancellation.
If the three judges don’t all show at the third meeting after being reminded, the competition will be canceled and an announcement of who didn’t show and fulfill their obligation will be made.
In the case of an emergency, or an extreme situation, and one cannot make it at the last minute, we can get someone from the audience.
