The image, “Wurstfest Opens with a Bite,” appears in an ad on Page 23. This image also placed first in the Photojournalism category in GSACC’s print competition in May.

GSACC defeated the Houston Camera Club in the 2009 scavenger hunt competition between the two clubs. GSACC won the digital category with a score of 781-770, and took the slide category with a score of 686-648. This was a more decisive victory than last year, when GSACC won the competition by just 1.5 points.
This year’s competition took place in La Grange in May. Images were judged by Der FotoKlub of Fredericksburg. Each club submitted the top two digital images and the top two slides in each category for judging. Results were announced at a lunch meeting at Frank’s Restaurant in Schulenburg on August 8.
The list of entries that was provided to Der FotoKlub did not include participants’ names. Instead, a list of participants’ contestant numbers was provided to them. Houston Camera Club’s contestant numbers started with “1.” GSACC’s contestant numbers started with “101.” Read the rest of this entry »
